No. 623 is waiting at the new Twenty-Third Line terminal on Northwest Twenty-Fourth and Nicolai Streets during the early 1910s. The building behind the streetcar is typical of the commercial enterprises that sprang up at the end of most carlines. It is a general store selling groceries, produce, meat, and even hay. Twenty-Third Avenue car No. 572 is seen downtown on Southwest Washington Street at Fifth Avenue in the later years. The Owl Drugstore is at right, behind a 1930 Studebaker. The sign hanging across the street behind the streetcar is for the Circle Theater. Note the cobblestones between the rails in the street. (McClellan photograph.)
